Discover Is Growing – An Exciting New Chapter with the C5

Dear Discover Community,

We’re writing to share an exciting update about the future of Discover. As of this fall, Discover will officially be merging into the C5 Hub Newcomer Centre and continuing as a key program under their umbrella.

Why this change?

Since launching, Discover has been driven by a mission to provide free, accessible, and high-quality academic support to newcomer and immigrant students across Alberta. By joining the C5, a well-established collaborative of organizations serving the Edmonton community, we’re strengthening that mission and ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of Discover’s programming.

This transition allows Discover to:

  • Access broader support

  • Build new partnerships and opportunities

  • Continue delivering services to more families across Alberta

What’s staying the same?

We want to assure you that:

  • There will be no changes to our current programming format

  • Online appointment-based tutoring sessions will continue as usual

  • All current volunteers, students, and families can continue participating exactly as they have

  • The quality, accessibility, and core values of Discover remain unchanged

In the future, the C5 may explore new initiatives such as in-person programming, with updates to be communicated as they roll-out.
